Start moving your work to the new reports right away if you haven’t already. This will give you enough time to get comfortable with them before the old versions are no longer usable.

Below is a list of the newest additions to the reports:

  • Columns in the aged reports will now hide itself if it’s not needed or if it’s empty.
  • You can now see reports from the past by default at the end of the current month, instead of using the “as of” date.
  • Invoices on the report date are now shown in the first age bracket instead of the “Current” column in our aged reports.
  • In aged reports, there is an additional option in the ageing periods dropdown menu that enables you to restore the report’s previous state.
  • We can see in analytics Plus, when your business activity statements and Pay As You Go withholidings are due over the graph.
  • Global settings have been released in the U.S., allowing you to set preferences for specific organizations such as the default accounting base, decimals, account codes and more.

Other innovations in Xero:

  • The Detailed Time Report has been updated with a new date filter, so the financial numbers are based on the year date rather than the date when it is published.
  • The start and end times for time entries are now included in this updated report and appear by default. And added columns for Project Status, Total Cost and Cost Rate Per Hour.
  • Bills with line items that are not assigned to a project will now be included in searches, to help you quickly find and assign expenses to relevant projects.

Xero consistently improving its technology to build new features more quickly, have a look:

  • In order to make it simpler for you to locate your financial institution when setting up a bank feed, they are implementing enhancements to the “Bank search” page.
  • To make it simpler for you to add a bank account, they’ve improved the “Add bank account” page.
  • Now its easy to import bank statements when bringing transactions into xero.
  • To lower the possibility of errors, the employee details page in Xero Payroll will receive an upgrade with a fresh look and include a new autocomplete tool for the address box.
  • In Xero, the payroll dropdown menu now includes a new link to payroll settings.
  • They’re updating the Xero Accounting App’s interface to better present information and let you rearrange the widgets however you see fit.
  • An updated design for the CIS Contractor report now features a PDF preview of Payment & Deduction statements.

What’s New?

  • New chart of accounts field in Xero HQ: Now we can add reporting name to accounts in the chart of accounts templates, which gives us Display name on reports.
  • Send direct debit mandates in Xero: Since GoCardless in Xero has been updated, you may now send direct debit agreements to clients directly from the accounting software without first sending them an invoice.
  • Payroll history now available in payroll settings — Australia: Now you can see any changes made by a small business owner, advisors or app partner.
  • Autocode incoming eInvoices — Australia & New Zealand: It allows us to allocate a code to eInvoicing suppliers, so line items from the supplier are automatically coded when you receive the eInvoice.
